I've never been, but everything I've heard about it says its a nice city, has all you need, but you can tell its white. If you can handle the last part -- which is being contradicted by some posters in here -- and the winters (which aren't as harsh as the Midwest, but probably longer from a "It could snow during this part of the year" standpoint), you're good.

Go about 45 min west of Denver to Idaho Springs. The few times I’ve driven thru the state, it’s a must I stay there. Real quaint and just got a chill ass vibe. I may go early spring
