I wanna give it a
really, really, really bad.
this is prolly the most powerful anime in history.
but it's not the best, no.
Honestly, I love the shyt out of this show. For incredibly personal reasons. I typed up 6 review/responses already and deleted them all. Cause I don't have the words.
It's about loss.
And overcoming loss.
And holding true to the inspiration that helped you overcome.
And doing the impossible in the memory of that loss.
No other anime does this better.
None.
This show will make you feel like you can do any fukking thing (past ep 11, but only if you watch past ep 11. And even then, if you can make it past ep 3 or 4).
Those reasons, though, are the reason I'm giving it a 9 and not a 10.
It's another one of those shows that takes time to grow into itself.
I kinda feel like you won't grow with it unless you have dealt with some HEAVY losses. If not, you'll prolly be sitting there bored and waiting for the show to pick up.
So yeah, 9/10

yep. if it's one anime that I plan on letting my kids watch day in and day out, it's this one.
The philosophy behind Gurren Lagann is..... life altering, to say the least. On some Fight Klub shyt.
Even to this very day, hearing the themesong in my head makes me feel like I'm able to conquer the damn world.
And those intro/recaps at the beginning of each ep: "this is the story of a man...."
And when you think it can't get any bigger... it does. When you thnik it can't POSSIBLY get any more epic... IT WILL.

Dime!! One of my favorite anime of all time and the last of Gainax at its greatness. That shyt legit moved me to tears at the end. Didn't GL have some movies? I still haven't seen those.

I love the rags to riches story it had.
The characters literally started from the bottom to having space fights throwing galaxies and shyt. The escalation in this anime was
every fight just felt sohh triumphant

Fun but serious with good animation and sound. Solid 8.5.
Japanese folks are always surprised when I talk about it on their streams. Guess they don't realize just how popular it is worldwide

Its in my personal top 10.
One of the most epic anime ever. Just everything was humble yet done on a grand scale. from the animation, to the story, to the fights. Its sooo inspirational and the characters and what they go through is mad heartfelt and endearing (not on the level of Rainbow tho, which is the fukking goat real nikka emotional anime and should be on the list) It balances humor, playfulness, with mad serious tones and the pacing is great. No filler episodes an everything is meaningful.
Love the teamwork an sacrifice themes in the anime as well. It also has one of the best finales ever and it makes you really question life and moving forward. shyt is deep.
The movies are dope and mad scenes are added into the ending and shyt is changed up, but its still dope.
If only Darling in the Franxx would have been a fraction of the greatness TTGL was.
