Straight heat from start to finish. Probably the darkest Gundam show. If you thought there would be kind of a happy ending, well they just take a dump in your cereal.

Great feeling of hopelessness, anxiety, and depression because the characters you've seen grow with each other slowly get killed off one by one and there isn't a god damn thing you can do about it. :blessed:
Bright Noa needs to quit letting his kids fight.

Scirocco's pimp hand :wow:

This dude was out here whispering into these women's ears, having them melting like butter in his hands like he was Goldie from the Mack.

He had an assist for Char, if he woulda dikked down that one chick she would have never betrayed them.

This show didn't play :wow:

The battles, the character growth, and the darkness were all in full swing with this series.
Continuing after the original Gundam may have been an impossible standard to top in the eyes of many fans at the time, but I'd say that Zeta Gundam serves as a perfect sequel to Mobile Suit Gundam.

Some of the most memorable moments for me include...

The death of Four. The lives of these Cyber-newtypes really makes you feel a certain type of way :mjcry:
On top of that, this was one of the final nails in the coffin for Kamille's innocence. He becomes a great pilot, but ends up more and more jaded as the series continues on.

Seeing what happened to the OG characters in Zeta was interesting.
Bright Noa still slapping the taste out of people and taking names :salute:
(When Bright was shedding tears over that videotape of his kids :mjcry:)
Char's swag :whew:
My dude stayed rocking sunglasses in SPACE :win:

Then you had Amuro rocking the Tony Montana gear and taking Hayato's woman behind his back:banderas:
Kai Shiden turning into the James Bond of the Gundam world :youngsabo:

...Katz Kobayashi is a top 3 simp in anime history. I stan Krillin and even I was watching this fool Katz like :hhh:
Super-simp got his crush killed trying to :cape: even AFTER she defected back to the enemy's side. After that, Katz got himself killed trying to step to Yazan like he was really gonna about that life.
Dude learned the hard way that these girls ain' loyal
tenor.gif
Char has a photosensitive issue so he keeps his sunglasses on.

But he came to laugh at nikkas.

Amuro got Beltochicka pregnant in one of the novels.

Katz was a simp like his father.

Kamille's fate ultimately lead Char to abandon hope for humanity they kid was like his little brother or son. CCA is a direct result of the event in Zeta.

:krs:YO, for anybody who wants to know how the one year war started in the original gundam series, i suggest you watch the "Mobile Suite Gundam Origin" ova's.
There's 6 movies in total ranging around 1hr 1/2 each.

It mainly follows char aznable's early life and how he became known as the Red Comet. shyt is lit from start to finish:ohlawd:.

The series that are obviously produced to sell toys are the WOAT. Blame Bandai Namco. They have faaaaar too much influence on the direction of Gundam now since they completely own Sunrise. They're talking about buying Sotsu now (they already partially own them), if that happens then they have complete control of the franchise.

Tomino basically said they don't even check for his input (though he was referring to the live action movie). That's why their producers stay dipping and starting new studios (Masahiko Minami and co. left and started Bones shortly after Cowboy Bebop, Deen was started by previous Sunrise employees, as was Manglobe, although they went bankrupt...). My point is, they're increasingly on some corporate shyt.

Oh and that new Build Divers is the product of Sunrise's acquisition of Xebec from Production I.G. :mjcry:
Tomino needs to get the reigns. He's a hit maker. This gonna end up like Kojima and Konami.

Not gonna happen. He has no ownership of the franchise. They throw him a bone every now and then and let him direct a series like that Gundam show he did a few years ago and Overman King Gainer in 2002, but Sunrise typically doesn't share ownership of it's IPs with actual creators. For instance, Escaflowne was created by Shoji Kawamori and he has zero ownership in that (hell, he didn't even direct the series or movie). Whereas you have a show like Gurren Lagaan where it's showrunner shared copyright ownership with Gainax, Sony, Konami, etc.

I guess it wouldn't be completely impossible though now that I think about it. Hideaki Anno debo'd the rights of Eva from Gainax when he formed Khara, which was basically the beginning of Gainax's demise (all their creators leaving was the nail in the coffin)

Tomino should make his own studio and do a new series. Though if he was going to he would have. King Gainer and Aura Battler Dubine were good though.
