Strong 9. Aku Soku Zan
GOAT Characters

That fight between Saitou and Kenshin still gives me chills to this very day.

When Saitou sword broke and I thought that nikka was a dead man, homeboy hit Kenshin with the belt buckle lawd!

Hiko being so superpowered the creator didn’t even know what to do wit his ass....

Dope story
All that needs to be said.
Aoshi:wow:
Saito :wow:
Shishio Arc:wow:
Soujiro:wow:
Shishio tanking the Amakakeru Ryu No Hirameki :wow:
Shioshio pulling up on the devil in the afterlife :heh:

Show had great character development. Probably the best. Had entire episodes where Kenshin wasnt even involved and it was great regardless.

I will say this even though I love the storyline, battles and the historical aspect of it I really couldn’t stand the low key European worship it had going on in regards to European colonization.:francis:
The thing about RK was how historically accurate it was. Kenshin was based on a real guy. Saito WAS a real person and so was Obito and they were revered as top Shinsen Gumi, especially Obito. I read a book about them before.

Edit: Okita not Obito

Easy 10 for the anime

Probably the most underrated shounen ever from the standpoint it's just as good as the likes of YYH & HXH and all the top written anime but doesn't have the legions of casual fans. Outside of the two shows I mentioned before, I cant think of another anime with more interesting and detailed characters: Kenshin has about 10 bad ass, extremely fascinating characters where most shows struggling finding one.

What really sets Kenshin apart from the others is the attention to detail & its excellent ways of paralleling real life events in that olden time period with what's going on in the show for example they touch on science becoming a factor, different types of swordsmanship & clothing like fencing while wearing western clothing, the religion of Christianity coming into Japan, formation of Japan etc etc. Just an extremely detailed anime from start to finish. Kenshin ends differently than the other top level shounen, its about 30 episodes TOO long instead of being RUSHED like YYH, but I will always prefer the former to the latter.

Haven't even mentioned the Kyoto Saga/Arc is one of if not the best saga in anime period

If we are nominating movies, please give me a reason to watch DBZ tree of might or history of trunks again

Anxiety attacks and sugar cookies
It’s a 10 for me, up there with tenchi Muyo and gundam Wing on that og toonami block

Used to be obsessed with that show, Kenny also had one of the greatest berserker personalities in anime history, when that nikka flipped his blade I was always on some :ooh::picard:

I gave it a 7. Great childhood anime. But the high points were Battousai and Saitou fighting, Himura and Shishio fighting, and Hiko Seijuro scenes (fukking Superman w/o the flying). The rest of the anime is honestly, meh.

That's not Rurouni Kenshin. That's Samurai X.

some producer came up with the name Samurai X to market Rurouni Kenshin to non Japanese speakers. So it’s basically the same thing

this happens a lot with anime title translations

Samurai X is some dub title shyt. Manga is Rurouini Kenshin. Anime is Rurouini Kenshin. OVAs are Rurouini Kenshin.

Nah, brehs. It's from the same story, yes. But those are still two different productions. There's Samurai X and Rurouni Kenshin. The storytelling, animation, character development are just different. Samurai X is just superior than RK.
