They had 3 matches in 1993 that got 4.75, 4 and 4 stars from Meltzer. This one got 4 stars I think

Marty was super over as a babyface but he couldn't stop getting fired :francis:

He could have been at LEAST in that Jericho tier between IC champ and occasional World title contender throughout the mid 90's.

nah Janetty had no real charisma. Didnt know how to cut a good promo and he refused to cut the fukking mullet lol. As time went on, those mullets slowly disappeared, but Marty's stood tall :whoa:

good dropkick tho :manny:

guys like Jeff Jarrett, Ahmed Johnson, Marc Mero, Goldust and Blueblood HHH were the IC title scene in 95 and 96. You can't tell me Jannetty wouldn't have been more over and had better matches than that bunch. The British Bulldog was a borderline main eventer and the only quotables I remember from him are "he fell on his fookin arse" and "I gonna win this Royal Rumble because I am bizaaaahr" :wtf:

Marty would have been in the mix.

He would have had to refresh his style in 97 once things started to get less corny, admittedly :manny:

Bumping my own thread.:lolbron:

Seth Rollins vs Randy Orton - Wrestlemania 31 : ****1/4
Underrated match, rarely get brought up, not too long with a lot of action and of course that awesome final spot. Orton hasnt had any match of this caliber since then. One of his best performance ever.
I hope we're getting something similar this year with AJ.

Los Guerreros vs Team Angle - Smackdown february 2003 : ***1/2
Fun match but a little all over the place at the end.

Sasha Banks vs Bayley - NXT Takeover : Brooklyn 2015 : ****
Great match but people tend to sell it as one of the best women's match of all-time, didnt think it was all that.

I'mma get in on this.

Brody King/PCO vs The Briscoes, from the ROH 17th Anniversary show.

***

Gets points for the entire show and this match being a subtle nod to the company being founded in Philadelphia, at least to me. It felt like the show was loosely laid out like a mid to late era ECW show, with the main event/world title match randomly occuring in the middle of the show, devolving into fukkery, and having a random finish that attempted to put over the champion and challenger, while building an issue with the next challenger. And then having a tag team match main event. shyt was real close to being a watered down reincarnation of Heatwave 99, down to having Bubba Ray attempt to shyt on the crowd for no reason.

But the match itself was ok, I suppose. As I get older, I have less and less interest in hardcore style matches that are violent for the sake.of being violent. Someone needs to tell PCO to chill the fukk out. He really asked the Briscoes to open him up hard way with the sticks (:dame: times a million), and let one of them do that stabbing spot with a broken one. He's legitimately going to die at a show if he keeps fukking around. He's too old for this shyt. That was the first Brody King match I'd ever seen. He was meh. Not looking forward to potentially seeing them wrestle the GOD next month.

Overall not a terrible match, but nothing I think I'll ever watch again.

Sasha Banks vs Bayley (30 minutes Iron Man match) - NXT Takeover : Respect : ****3/4

Well i liked this way more than their previous encounter, they did way more here in my mind, the greatest women's match i ever saw.

Just a super dope, well paced and structured iron man match. Great wrestling, great storytelling, great psychology and great suspense and emotion.

Jay White vs Will Ospreay at the NJPW 47th Annual Anniversary Show: *****

Hell of a match Ospreay can easily be NJPW's next Kenny Omega and Jay White is being portrayed as a student of the game that knows how to counter all of his opponents go to moves excellent match. I just wish the title was on the line but it didn't take away from the match at all.

People like to shyt on Jay White, but he wrestles the NJPW main event style pretty well. He's been on a pretty good run since Wrestle Kingdom. I just wish they didn't immediately put him on the Kenny "the champ is never here" deal immediately.

I even saw that coming when I first watched this as a kid, so yeah thats minus a star for making stephanie a permanent on air personality from that point going forward. Horrible ppv except for the cage match with kane and xpac

Randy Orton vs Christian (Steel Cage Match) - Smackdown 2011 : ****1/4

Wow. I had no memories of this match and i saw it while doing some search on cagematch.net
This was really great, they had one hell of a feud in 2011.

They had some really good matches in 2011, it’s just that it was one-sided as hell. Christian got p*ssy ass DQ and desperation wins, and Orton got all the decisive dominant wins.
