:whew: @ the avi but that build seems overpriced.

I got my build for around $300(I already had case)

The 7750 for the same price you should've gotten a GTX550TI for around the same price or something better. I paid $90 something for my GTX 550 TI.

The CPU is better than mines I have a FX4100(3.6ghz OC'd at 4.1GHZ).
I'd switch the video card to a 7770 but you said light work so it should suffice.

It's just my build is almost the same but way cheaper.

What is the part breakdown from your build? I could have made it cheaper but I splurged on a Blu-ray, ssd drive and usb 3.

I got a Asus M578L M LX Am3+ Mobo
AMD Fx4100 3.6GHZ(OC'd to 4.1GHZ)
8GB DDR3 1066 Crucial Ram
1TB Toshiba 7200 RPM Sata HD
OC-Z 60 GB SSD
Nvidia Geforce 1GB DDR5 GTX 550 TI
Asus Xonar DS Sound card
I already had a case, power supply, SSD and dvd drive so my total came up to less than $400. I bought the sound card and 1TB HD later so up front for a working build I had paid $287.

I got the Mobo at a discount at only $10 I think when I bought it with the CPU and I got the gfx card refurbished.

The sound card was a pain in the ass because I didn't know about needing to have a sound card that supports Dobly Digital Live or DTS Connect if I wanted surround sound via Optical out (sp dif).
My receiver didn't have HDMI nor multi channel analogue input so I had to go on a goose chase looking for a specific card that supported the above feature. Only the Asus Xonar DS and a few creative Xi Fi cards support it.

Looking at your build I think I did well. If I subtract my case, Blu-ray went a smaller SSD (Which I might do) I would come close to the cost you paid. You got a good deal on the mother board for $10.

As for the card I really don't like nvidia that much, had issues with them in the past. I wont be buying these parts until next month so I'm just researching now. So nothing is set in stone. :manny:

strongly urge you to refer this list before you buy

PassMark Software - Video Card Benchmarks - High End Video Cards

The closest card I seen in the chart is the 7770, this is not a high end gaming rig, I just play the occasional games on it. The 7750/7770 are good enough to play newer games at medium to high setting with good frame rate. If you can find a better card in the 100-120 range let me know.

I seen vids where Far cry 3 ran good on these cards.

i think with some good searching you can probably find a good deal on a 560ti(rebates and the what not)

they start around 160-170 but to me its worth it

trust me when i say this: i been there

i didnt get a ti

i ended up with a prebuilt one with a 560 :dro: everyone and their momma told me to upgrade this and that

but video card is the one thing you cant go wrong with if you get a good one most of the time

IE the cards in PS3/xbox are still working pretty strong in 2012 yet they released in 2005/06

i would ignore the psu advice honestly....as long as you arent a slob and the cpu has breathing room and decent cooling(and a reliable power surge) you should be straight
