Maybe I’m still on a high from the Kendrick Drake battle but I’m having a tough time getting into this. It’s sounds ok but I think I need to come back to this

8.5/10 album - enjoyed it on my first listen (was driving to Detroit).

I'm honestly a little overwhelmed with good music recently: Mach-Hommy, Roc Marciano, Schoolboy Q, Vince Staples, Nia Archives, Ghais Guevara, Little Simz, MIKE, etc. that I need to slow down and see what falls into place musically.

Got halfway thru this twice and then completed it in full just now

This just isn't a good album to me :yeshrug:
She's getting away with a lot of bullshyt in her raps and flows because she's considered lyrical, but there's objectively some bad rapping on here to me. The subject matter is boring to me as well

It probably would translate well to a live show, but performing poor material well live doesn't do it for me.

You sound like your standards are pretty high, can respect that...

What would be your top 3 albums this year so far since we're at half ?

Forgot to respond to this

Probably

Children of the Slums - Mozzy
Affiliated 2 - Jay Worthy
Might Delete Later - J Cole

Been a fairly weak year tho in terms of full projects

I got high hopes for Chupacabra on June 7

I think that'll be west coast AOTY unless kenny drop

My Pops Forever RIP
6 pages :picard:

its like how rappers claim they support Rapsody but dont even really fukk with her music like that :laff:

She fills the space of what people expect from music but it falls short so they embrace it for what it’s supposed to represent. :francis:
Rapsody is the rap equivalent of the public library. Nobody wants to experience it and it doesn't make any money, but we'll swear it's necessary and we'll raise hell as a community if it goes away.

I like the way you wrote about libraries.

Personally I like them. Preferably if they're near empty or have quiet spots. But that's rare.

:picard: As a library going marsupial, good grief this doesn't hit the nail on the head with her bland ass raps.
