The bloods and the crips really became known nationwide after Boyz In The Hood was released in 1991. About 5 years ago I was in a Walgreens in suburban Detroit and Tony Toni Tone's song "me and you" came on overhead, there were three female cacs in line behind me, I over heard them say "I love that song, it reminds me of when we used to drink 40's and watch boyz in the hood all day". Also, I was visiting family in Little Rock,Arkansas in the late 1990's and my cousin told me it was good I had on black that day, because we were heading into blood territory. There is even a poorly organized set in Detroit called the 7 mile bloods,shyt is crazy.
