Pop wasn't bigger than Bobby. Bobby had everybody and their mama doing the Shmoney dance and singing his song. Bobby was played everywhere

Most people still haven't heard a Pop Smoke song because he was mainly a regional artist that was starting to get a push. His sound wasn't universal and is a hard sell to many.

In other words, you still hear Hot nikka everywhere 5 years later. You'll probably never hear Pop Smoke in many of the same clubs and events ever.
Pop def wasn’t bigger than Bobby I know a shorty right now who never heard a Pop Smoke song and she’s in her 30s. But Bobby Shmurda had every celebrity including Beyonce doing that dance. On the flip side tho Pop was working on having a better music career.

Pop smoke got smoked I wasn’t the shooter I just gave out the addy and they took it upon themselves ‍♂️ I’m innocent. As I said before I didn’t know it was going to happen they did what that had to do! They got rid of dirt to ashes . | Story of what happened |. • pop smoke owed somebody I know some money I gave them the drop on his address from his Instagram story they decided to pull up & everything went left.

nikka is an idiot for posting this but would it be a surprise if he owed someone money? This guy probably clout chasing smh

Pop had a huge following in the UK though....they marketed him perfectly over there....he had a buzz more over there but was coming up in the US....sad he was taken to early....

In comparison to Hot nikka Bobby bytch didn’t do as well

Is 75 million on YouTube for a ehh song a flop tho? :francis:
Those numbers went up after he was incarcerated and it came out 5 years ago...

I was there I remember. Bobby dropped the snippet and everybody was going crazy at how hard it sounded. When the actual song dropped the snippet was harder it was underwhelming. That shyt wasn't played at no functions that "ohh you ain't know" shyt was corny. It was supposed to be his next big track and it wasn't quickly fell off the charts. Bobby Bytch flopped.

Yes he was. Hot Nikka was bigger than Bobby.

It was a flash in the pan moment. A song that went viral and popped. Bobby didn't have much music out or much experience rapping. The EP he dropped flopped before jail. He had a bigger song but he himself was not bigger than Pop Smoke. Pop Smoke has a grip of songs in rotation in NYC. He was making all the movements in the industry to be a star.

And Pop wasn't regional. I posted his Spotify numbers earlier in this thread. He had a lot of listeners in London, Chicago, and LA. It's posters in here from Atlanta, DMV, Houston co-signing. His tape just did 36K first week he was about to tour. A regional artist is a guy like Don Q.

I haven't heard Hot Nikka in a minute and I'm from NY lol.

The song was bigger than Bobby.

The dance was bigger than Bobby.

His EP did nothing, Pop Smoke just sold 36,000 mixtapes.

Streaming era =/= physical era. I can turn on a pop smoke song and count towards his sales during that time the primary way of music still was physical/digital buys.

shyt I'm a consumer of his lane of music and I never listened to the nikka myself. He wasn't as big as some of you think

I dont think pop does better than that(gold) honestly.
I think he could have doubled his first week sales from his tape in album mode and he could have eventually been a Platinum artist.

The team he had around him was gonna ensure his success. Pop was real personable and was doing his thing on the networking tip. You can see that from just what people like DJ Bootleg Kev, Jadakiss, 50 all these people how they've spoken of him. The tour was going to raise his profile. He had a real star quality about him.

And his international appeal can't be underestimated the fanbase he had built in London. He had just started hopping on R&B records with H.E.R. and PnB Rock the females loved him.

I just seen he had a Spanish track coming out. :heh:

I had Spotify back then nikkas around my age was already consuming music through there

Fair enough tho if you wanna make that point. At the end of the day streaming or physical the EP did nothing. Sold 20,000 copies and out the 5 records only Hot Nikka that had been out since summer was played.

If you was listening to Brooklyn drill his lane you would literally have to go out ya way to not listen to him. Must have been fukking with the Choo's only. :mjpls:
