The National Guard would have killed 750 people in Chicago in one year?
i couldnt find good data for last year, but i found this:
The Tribune creates a first-of-its-kind database on all 435 police-involved shootings in Chicago from 2010 through 2015, revealing startling patterns.
www.chicagotribune.com
6 year span of chicago police shootings (2010-2016)
435 shootings
92 deaths
170 wounded
annual average of
15.3 killed
28.3 wounded
presumably, the national guard is called in because they are better at violence than the police, because the police, theoretically, should be better trained and equipped at non-violent civilian tactics than the national guard. unless you know of some new program the national guard has that is better at fighting crime non-violently than the police that i dont know about, i can't see any other reason other than to increase the deaths of crime suspects by calling such a force in, instead of increasing services that would target sociological issues, for instance...
if this much government violence allows for 750 murders, how much more killing should the national guard do to make a dent in the chicago murder numbers?
