I recently made the move to Manhattan and you couldn't pay me To spend any real time n my old hood. Last time I went back was to pick up something important. As far as hanging out over there? Hell nah. For what? Trouble will find you anyway, there's no point in looking for it.

I be in and out and I been in the same spot for years...i say what up and go either to the crib or my destination..

Man it's funny reading all this fukk the hood comments, and nikkas like Meek saying the same thing. 50 cent said the shyt 2,000 years ago, and he still goes back all the time. You just have to know how to enter and exit. Don't go back shinning or acting like you better than them. I can't just blame Meek tho since it's a common problem in Hip Hop culture.

Rappers would rather leave the hood so they can wear diamond chains and drive flashy cars then rebuild a black community.

Not to get too deep, but I was reading Dubois and you can trace it back to when we were first emancipated. There was no sense of community because it was a race to make a better life for yourself. I can't help you out if I'm trying to make sure my family eats and has a roof over their head.

The behavior goes back a long ways, it's just sad it manifests itself this way.
