100% OP. Rap is def WWE nowadays.

In the 80's there were probably 50+ labels, each unique and provided something original.

The industry is now controlled by a few. That's the point.

Does thread also mean that industry rappers are coddled and making their album while not worrying about studio budgets, marketing plans, promotional costs - resources and personnel. Meanwhile independent artists are handling all administrative aspects . . probably sacrificing meals or lifestyle habits to get studio money together and when things are all said and done they use what little bit of resources they have left on promotional costs (if they're smart) . . all while worrying about building a sustainable career

And regional hits ain't shyt compared to mainstream music that was put out by the major industry machine and introduced to all of the proper channels to ensure success :pacspit:

We all know that Mac Dre ain't shyt compared to Biggie . . even though Biggie was a business dummy and sold his publishing for pennies and then through a 4 year career released just two albums that served as glorified single releases for songs that Puffy gave him the vision for. Meanwhile Mac Dre sustained a 15 year career on his own where he had to learn how to market himself and build a record label and put out over 20 high quality releases during his lifetime . . while creating music independently that still to this day is a household staple regionally and used in conceptual reiterations by top industry pop acts like Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and Big Sean

So ya . . Biggie is surely ranked ahead of Mac Dre based off his 2 albums compared to Mac Dre's 20 albums . . I mean . . that ad page in the XXL Magazine told me so

this.

Mac Dre is the pinnacle of independence.

and artists talk that whole you dont need a label stuff all the time when in reality, you need a label to really matter where it matters.

the more people invested in an artist, the heavier the push.

thats why opportunity > business if you want to win in music.

Do music for the experience/chance and put your little money into assets that will take care of you when you are done having fun.
