Yes, let’s just eliminate rap, then crime while be WAY down. Not saying rap is the only factor, but the way you guys discuss it on here, it must be a major or leading factor right?! I bet if we eliminated rap music the world would change so much. Because, of course, we did not have violence like that before rap music. Right? The one with more influence has to be rap right? Not the streets. Cause we all know that it’s rap influencing the streets and society and not the other way around. That’s cause y’all actually been in the streets right?

If y’all don’t sit y’all goofy ass down with this tired ass rhetoric

2X burger you're my guy....I like you as a poster...and you seem like you may have a history. IDK how old you are but when I was a teen Jeezy / Dipset motivated a lot of my peers to trap. It sounds stupid and it is; but its a fact. I'm pro-hip-hop and listen to plenty of ignorant shyt..but you don't feel like music has influenced you? Throw on some sugar free and tell me you won't get on your HOH GMB steeze
Sidenote: I think social media is extremely problematic with this. Kids can now watch and participate in adult affairs. A 12 year old can follow you on IG and watch you promoting all sorts of BS. They see their favorite MCs making death threats on live in real time...its wild

In preschool they teach you the alphabet and many other lessons through songs. Whether we’re conscious or aware of it or not, those songs repeat in your mind all day and become hard wired into your being. I’ll leave it at that. I know it’s not a popular opinion, but it’s the truth. If y’all think none of this has an effect on your psyche…

It only influences the easily impressionable ones and the smart dumb.
Yep. I was a kid when NWA and 2 Live Crew came out. I though they were funny, they never made me want to do bad shyt. Other people see these acts and want to emulate them. You can’t just make a blanket statement like that

first page full of obtuseness :mjlol:

there’s influences literally everywhere in the world. To sit here and say people can’t be influenced or driven to do something because of music is hilarious
They act like the field of marketing doesn't exist for this purpose (persuading people)

How is it that the youth before this current generation knew the difference between bullshyt and real life?

Maybe some of the current youth are just retarded. Did you ever stop and consider that?

Agreed. It's embarrassing to admit but when I was young I definitely emulated music and movies. I didn't have guidance as a teen so I turned to that...

Believe it or not, many people will outright tell you that advertising can't work on them, that they can not be influenced to buy things. It's both laughable and sad because if I were in that line of business, that's exactly the mindset I'd want my target audience to have

Breh I’m here to make sure balance is restored around here. No doubt music has negative influence. You got countless examples of people telling you as much. But that don’t mean that it’s nowhere near a leading factor as plenty of posters on here like to make it seem. That’s where the issue lies. They wanna blame rap music for every ill in the black community. I actually been in the streets for real. The influence came from my family, not rap lol. And them nikkas was in the streets before rap was invented
