got dudes punching each other 20 straight times without even thinking of protecting their faces

Why do fans actually care about leg slaps of all things? Everything about wrestling from the punches to the kicks to the slams looks f#cking ridiculous. Leg slaps are the last thing people should be complaining about looking fake.

You got dudes “punching” each other in the head full force with no blood or bruising, but leg slaps make the business look bad :mjlol:

Yeah, that's dumb too, but it's wrestling. Personally, I'll always prefer forearms/slaps to punches in wrestling (just makes more psychological sense to me), but if the working punch is good and you're not slapping me on the face with how fake it all is (no pun intended) I don't care. Same with kicks and leg slapping.

I think the ONE time North American wrestling post-1985 or so ever cared about how punching worked was, like, when they were introducing Dan Severn and explained that he didn't punch downward in the mount because he didn't want to break his knuckles on the mat/his opponent's skull. Otherwise, just punch away.

Basically the Benoit style..he used to do viscious forearms before he started loading up.

"But how are we supposed to make it sound real then :sadbron:"

:mjlol: the leg slap is one of the worst things from the indys that made it to the big companies.

HBK is the leg slap god... used it correctly and you never seen him actually slap his leg while doing it... indy midgets took it and ran with it and destroyed it. I wanna say young bucks started it with the super kick party nonsense

Rock did them, but you'd never notice unless you were looking for it. :yeshrug:

That being said... and I hate to say it, Orton has a point. ( :hhh: I hate having to type that out) In spurts, it adds to the match and sells some semblance of realism. But when you hit 20-30 strike variations that require you to bruise the ever-loving shyt out of your thigh, usually in succession, it's distracting.

So I guess Ciampa coming to RAW to feud wit Orton after he's done wit Edge:jbhmm:
Rumor Killer On WWE Planning Randy Orton Vs. Tommaso Ciampa - Wrestling Inc.

vs. Tommaso Ciampa feud on WWE's main roster.

As we've noted before at this link, Orton and Ciampa went back & forth on Twitter this week after Orton commented on "leg slaps" at Sunday's WWE NXT "Takeover: In Your House" event. Orton's wife Kim even joined him in taking shots at Ciampa on Monday night.

The Twitter beef between Orton and Ciampa led to rumors and speculation on WWE possibly planning a feud between the two, and a possible main roster call-up for Ciampa after his loss to Karrion Kross at Takeover.

In an update, Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live that the tweets were not done to set up a match between the two. This could've been a situation of Orton and Ciampa organizing the back & forth in private, or a real exchange between the two, but it was not something set up by the company. That's not to say Ciampa is not headed to the main roster, but the tweets were not ordered by the company as a part of any creative plans.

There's no word yet on what WWE has planned for Ciampa after his loss to Kross on Sunday. Orton will face WWE Hall of Famer Edge at Sunday's WWE Backlash pay-per-view. Stay tuned for updates.

It ain't even subtle :mjlol:

I don't wanna sound all "back in my day" but nikkas like Tajiri and Test used to do that shyt perfectly without making it obvious
The funny thing is that most of the time they were actually connecting with the foot too. What makes the knee slapping look so stupid is how far off the kick is to connecting.:russ:

Killer Kross sucks
He's... literally just "Intermittent Explosive Disorder"-era Orton with a valet who controls his presentation and loves American Horror Story maybe just a little bit too much.
Orton is looking at what could have been for him if WWE still used managers in the 2000s, and if he didn't have 2 generations of workers in his family looking out for him.
