This is the stage of the season I like to follow who has done what versus the best competition. Here are all playoff and playoff adjacent teams records, versus +.500 teams (only teams with a winning record presently):
Browns 5-1 (.833)
Ravens 6-2 (.750)
Bengals 4-4 (.500)
Bills 3-3 (.500)
Jaguars 4-6 (.400)
Chiefs 2-3 (.400)
Texans 2-3 (.400)
Colts 2-4 (.333)
Dolphins 0-3 (.000)
Eagles 4-2 (.667)
49ers 3-2 (.600)
Lions 1-1 (.500)
Seahawks 3-5 (.375)
Rams 2-5 (.286)
Cowboys 1-3 (.250)
Vikings 1-3 (.250)
Saints 1-3 (.250)
Buccaneers 0-6 (.000)
Based off what I've seen to this point in the season:
The Ravens, I just gotta see em in the playoffs. I do think they've been the most consistent team in the AFC all season, the two games they lost to playoff teams, were by 3 points to Indy, and 2 points to Cleveland. They are in every game. But Lamar, he's in Y7 now with a 1-3 playoff record. The AFC is his for the taking...
He's never had a great playoff game or playoff run and he's earned the reputation as a regular season player until further notice. They've got the #1 defense (scoring) in football, a head coach flirting with All-Time consideration if he has another deep run in him. To me, Baltimore is their own worst enemy...
I'd say given the Chiefs' pedigree and history, they are the biggest threat. I'd pick Baltimore to beat them but I would not at all be shocked if KC went there and won at The Bank, given the playoff experience there vs the playoff futility the Ravens have. The Bills get in, I think we need to take them as a serious threat...
Cleveland with Flacco I think is a real threat too and I think a dark horse Super Bowl contender. I think they can beat anyone in the bracket, we know there's historically been a Playoff Flacco, abd this team is rallying behind him. Because I don't think the Ravens are dominant, I'd not be shocked at all if any of these other three teams beat them in the playoffs, but let's be clear: Baltimore has earned the right to be the favorite going into the playoffs...
We are going to learn a lot about both them and San Francisco this Monday!
On the other side, listen, I buy the Niners as the best team in the NFL, but I don't buy them as unbeatable. We've got a list of teams winning with massive injuries to key position players and quarterbacks, yet as soon as the Niners lose a top guy or two, they lose...
Deebo and Trent are the most valuable players on that offense. This team is more dependent on them, than I think any other team is on their top position guys. Don't believe me?
•KC is 9-5 with zero major position threats outside of a declining Kelce, and Pacheco;
•the Cowboys have no run game and a sus defense and are 10-4;
•Buffalo is 8-6 with a defense that has had major injuries all year, a running game that JUST started working, a turnover-prone QB and a sometimey WR room;
And this isn't getting into all the playoff level teams with backups: Cleveland, Indianapolis, Cincinnati...
The Niners are more dependent on the main guys being present than anyone...
I do think the NFC is there's to lose, ain't none of these NFC squads fit to beat them. Dallas is fraudulent, the Eagles are super fraudulent, and I'd love to see Detroit run the table, but....fraudulent!
It'll be an AFC team that beats SF, if they can be beaten...
One thing to note is Lamar hasn't really had the talent at RB and WR for most of his career. This is pretty much the first year where he as a decent RB and WR's. Most people couldn't name their WR trio before this season. Then the play calling was ass by Roman.This is the stage of the season I like to follow who has done what versus the best competition. 100% about Baltimore. But Lamar has SUCKED in the playoffs. I have to see him not SUCK to gain more confidence. They are the best team in The A but they on Cowboys status to me, we know they are strong in the regular season. He and Harbaugh have the best team of Lamar's tenure---->they need to impress this postseason...One thing to note is Lamar hasn't really had the talent at RB and WR for most of his career. This is pretty much the first year where he as a decent RB and WR's. Most people couldn't name their WR trio before this season. Then the play calling was as by Roman.
KC is going to lose in the playoffs if they have to travel for sure. There WRs are ass for the most part. Tony is a liability and they need to bench him.
49ers fans on here are obsessed with Aiyuk. He isn't on the level of Jefferson, Diggs, or Chase. shyt I think Tee Higgins is better. He isn't worth paying that kind of money for. Without Deebo, Aiyuk wouldn't look that great. Deebo be on DC's minds at all time.
Niners winning it all if they can stay healthy. The only person overrated in the Niners is Kyle Shannahan. He's had a SB roster for years and can't get it done. Niners always had sus secondary until last year. They are much better this year. The defense can generate turnovers more because of that. It will be needed due to the often dumb play calling by Kyle.100% about Baltimore. But Lamar has SUCKED in the playoffs. I have to see him not SUCK to gain more confidence. KC is definitely sus, I just think they are the biggest threat to Baltimore...
71 and 19. That offense doesn't generate near the same explosion without those two. McCaffrey is great but gitdamn is he overrated, we've seen a handful of great backs in the last dozen years carry offenses. This guy couldn't carry them 3 games with 71 and 19 out. Brock isn't the same guy without 71 and 19 and we've definitely seen quarterbacks succeed without an All-Timer at left tackle or a weapon as dope as 19; the later Russ Hawks instantly jump to mind but there are other examples...
I'm a Brock fan too but the fact he or White Emmitt are gonna win MVP doesn't sit well with me, when neither are the best player on that offense...
I like Aiyuk, I still think he has a higher ceiling he can get to. But he's absolutely benefitting from the attention Deebo draws...
That said, when the core 6 (Brock-CMac-Trent-Deebo-Aiyuk-Kittle) are mostly whole and have 71 and 19, they are tough to beat and I agree with the consensus they are the best team in ball. I hate the Ravens but I think I dislike SF more, I hope they win this week...
That Pickens thing is crazy. First time I’ve ever looked at Tomlin sideways
Bro goin up there giving the military disciplinarian press conferences meanwhile he’s letting his team implode bc he can’t check these 2 diva WRs
That’s how sports have been since day 1. If you don’t check the bad apples the good ones will quit too. Bc you not about to call me out but these dudes can do whatever they want
