How tf do you look at what the Chargers have done over the last 10 seasons and be like "Yeah, like them."

Only thing that bailed the Chargers out was they got Herbert who wasn't even projected to be that good but the Chargers needed to move on from Rivers.

Have fun drafting the "safest, upstanding citizen" players for the next few years rather than straight ballers who're stacking rings.

The guy also did Anthony Lynn dirty as fukk, so Antonio Pierce better stay in line. Dude learned under Bill Polian so :mjpls:

Not only that, they fukked around and hit the jackpot with Herbert having a QB that good while still on a rookie salary and have failed to do anything with it at all. They are in cap hell next year and wasted all his years on that rookie contract. I knew my faith in the Raiders fukking up would pay off. It was looking like they were about to get shyt right this offseason.

Chargers were pretty good with drafting high level talent but was very iffy on filling the roster and couldn't get a good HC. Hopefully Pierce solidifies the HC spot

I still think his best pick was Keenan Allen in the 3rd round.

I don't think getting first round talent is a challenge for dude because he usually takes the vanilla BPA or position of need. I'm not going to give him credit for Herbert because dude also didn't have him as QB1 that draft.

Dude can't seem to hit on the other rounds though. Manti Te'o, Hunter Henry, etc. Some outright horrible 2nd and 3rd round picks with loaded talent still available. I don't think dude ever drafted a late round "gem" the entire time. shyt, doing stuff like Quentin Johnston over Zay Flowers.

For a guy who got to where he was because he was a scout for Peyton Manning's Colts, I think dude got carried a little by a stellar QB during his tenure there. Manning is an amplifier that can basically turn nearly anybody into a weapon. I'm pretty sure dude left a lot of talent on the board that Manning would've made better use of.

Just going back through his draft picks to 2013, just stupendously bad - especially when you consider who were there to be drafted that people were yelling for (like Chris Jones).

Summary:
Ceiling if landing in a good situation: Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers and Josh Allen
Floor with absolute disaster of a situation and non-fit: Jay Cutler

Great landing spots: Chicago, New England, New York Giants (even with trade up), Minnesota Vikings (even with trade up - really like), Denver Broncos (even with trade up).
