Draymond & Gobert is real hate

But because of all these traveling AAU teams, camps, Team USA…players basically grow up with each other now

Like the Heat probably the Celtics biggest rival. Tatum & Bam damn near best friends

Also owners took steps to no longer give out those 6-7-8 year contracts players used to get. You don’t stick around with one team that long anymore…he’ll Magic got a 25 year contract with LA…NBAPA will never allow that nowadays

Yeah true and historically the NBA built rivalries through the playoffs, but if we’re in an era of parity with different teams making runs every season then less chances of repeated matchups

For example the Lakers & Spurs played each other in 99, 01, 02, 03 and 04, 5 times in 6 seasons.

All hate and rivalries died with expansion. Who you gonna hate from Phoenix, Utah, Sacramento you probably never met one person from these places. New York, Philly, Boston they got beef in multiple sports (and in real life :pachaha: ).

Which is why we should go back to 8 teams!!!!!!!!!

Shiiid I just want to know why these innanet people act like Karl Malone and Shaq played for every team :pachaha:

When in truth they were the exceptions amidst a bunch of Joe Kleine, Rick Smits, Shawn Bradley, Luc Longley, Ron Seikaly ass dudes.

Which is well in line (lowkey subpar) compared to the Hartensteins, Markannens, Kesslers, Zubacs, Mitch Robinsons, Valanciuans, Vucevics, etc that roam the league today.

I also think we have to be honest about "rivalry"

Bulls vs Knicks was a rivalry because (1) Jordan vs anybody in his way was going to be the most important thing ever, given his iconic popularity... and (2) the Knicks vs anybody in their way was going to be the most important thing ever because they as a franchise are iconically popular. So lightning in a bottle occurred with both having extremely competitive teams at the same time; it's not like the masses would care if Reggie Miller was stressin the Cleveland Cavs to 7 games in the mid-90s..

Lakers vs Sacramento, Lakers vs Portland, Lakers vs San Antonio... Lakers vs itdoesn'treallymatter just as long as it's Shaq Kobe Phil and Jack Nicolson vs somebody that can play Thanos to their Avengers.

HOU was right there with CLE as the most competitive team GSW ever faced, i'd argue even more-so with bad blood and years of great regular season and playoff battles... but CLE whateverteamLeBronison vs GSW whateverteamSteph(orKD)ison was the rilvary. Not too different than Brady vs Manning tbh.
