Him and his wife divorced on the 9th of this month and he committed suicide either the day after or on her birthday.

Seems likely that she was just a gold digger and once the money run out... All the signs are there. Timma left his family for her and even moved back to Russia + she's 10 years older + had a reputation for being a "socialite" etc.

All Penny had to do was get his knee checked out after the season and he probably would have been good. :mjcry:

Was my favorite player as a kid and the original Derrick Rose as far as universal love and praise as "next up".

League would've been interesting if he and Grant Hill had avoided those injuries and stayed healthy superstars. '98-'06 would've been their prime years (26-34 years old) overlapping directly with the primes of TMac, Kobe, Vince, AI, KG, Duncan, Yao and the early years of LeBron, DWade, Carmelo.

A lot of question marks as far as who they would've inevitably left to team-up with i.e. would healthy Penny have still lost the '99 series to Iverson and been traded to PHX the next year? Would Grant Hill have still then been traded to ORL the year after to join with TMac? At which point does ORL smack up TOR and PHI enroute to a Finals vs LAL in 2001?

Shaq & Kobe, and Duncan, probably still win everything but who knows if prime Penny had found his way to an already stacked Dallas or Sacramento..
