Dense, but he breaks down the shift to cloud capitalism and the absolute end of free markets.

This is also a beast of an essay : Casual Viewing | Will Tavlin

It's about the radical makeover of the film industry, but it can be applied to other art and even dating (and sports to an extent). The point of movies more than ever is to occupying your time rather than engage it; the point is no longer to make you feel something, but to keep you comfortably numb. Quality isn't even secondary. Also clarifies how you no longer understand the parameters for success, and it leads to everyone being paid less while the consumer also receives substandard product.

Back to hoops: Thunder are fukkin terrifying. They made the other legit terrifying team in the league look super ordinary in that second half.

If you hang on, it ends like Kobe

Or. You can trade and rebuild properly
Kobe tore his achilles which ended him for good

at least the Lakers tried to do something with Howard, Pau, Kobe, and Nash

Steph is still a top player, but they're haven't given up a 1st round pick in almost 6 years. What kinda organization is trying to compete, but refuses to give up a first rounder no matter what? it's nonsense

They have a chance to end it like Duncan, who made 1st-team All-NBA as a 37 year old.

Kinda depends on what Wardell really wants in his final years. I mean really wants.

Tim Duncan had the perfect swan song for an aging vet: contending every year even as his role diminished to 3rd, 4th, 5th option

Kobe had the opposite: bottom-feeder threadmill team, overworking himself to the point of injury, and then finally forced to come to peace that he was just gonna be a circus act attraction his final year.

Steph gon have to uproot his entire situation and jump ship if he wants that Tim Duncan path. How much does he value getting that 5th ring? Legacy doesn’t matter when you’re dead but while you’re alive it is pretty cool, esp if you can say you won more than your peers

checking out the PHX vs PHI game and the broadcaster just called Paul George and Bradley Beal a pair of future HOFers

is the NBA HOF stooped that low where they would let those two in if their career ended today?
