this is exactly why i was saying that billups taking that job was going to get him scapegoated lol
the dame situation was jokes, no one wants to coach ayton, horrible draft one year and stuck with #3 in the other, everyone hurt or waiting to be traded
only difference between him and silas' situation is that he kept the bass in his voice
coach WHO
That's his point though. It's just a bunch of collection of young players who don't seem to be developing under his tenure nor have a sense of direction.
Out of all those young dudes that's been there under his tenure, who actually looks like a keeper or could be a meaningful piece of the future?
It sucks for Billups and Silas how their first coaching jobs ended up, but they should have saw the writing on the wall when there were questions about the whether their best player would be on the roster long term. Even more so with Billups, as he had more leverage to pick a better situation than Silas did.
they're not even there lmao
sharpe played all of 30 games last year. already missed 8 this year. is it really chauncey's fault that duop reath hasn't turned the corner or taken that leap?
simons and grant ain't winning a thing - and that's the GM's entire goal right now. too many black coaches specifically take these "let me just get my foot in the door and work with this star" jobs just to get left holding a long term overhaul project while the front office gets to hide behind them.
portland isn't even having to answer questions as to why they thought keeping robert williams and ayton at the same time was the move yet - but lets talk about chauncey not getting the most out of toumani and deni defensively
The answer to that question is obvious so there's no need to question the point.
All the points you're making are the exact reason why Billups should have never taken the gig in the first place as everyone knew that Dame was on borrowed time with his remaining tenure there.
Billups could have taken the Cleveland GM gig and ended up in a better situation, so he deserves blame for him being in the current situation as well.
We're not about to make him into a sympathetic figure when he more leverage than other black and first time HC.
smh you already doing the argue to argue thing like you don't actually agree again i'll see myself out.
You’re reminding me of a poster on here earlier this year who was trying to argue that a coaches job isn’t to develop and maximize the talent on the roster, which is something Billups just isn’t doing
yall going back and forth but the point is, the team is directionless. 4 years under billups and the blazers aren't better. churning out another 25-30 win season isnt helping anyone, which was my point. they're not improving after 4 years. billups should be fired, and the FO should be fired as well. Functional organizations don't need 4-5 years to improve. at the rate they're going, they're gonna bottom-out 2x in 4 years
Grizzlies got Ja Morant and immediately changed the trajectory of their franchise. Almost made the playoffs in Ja's rookie season. 1 game away from it against the Blazers in the 2020 bubble. And outside of the injury-riddled season last year, they have made the playoffs and competed. they're the 2 seed now
Rockets got rid of Silas and put in a coach and added vets and are looking to make the playoffs after going 41-41 last season (they won 22 games under silas the season before that)
Spurs could possibly make the play-in after b2b 20-win seasons
