there may be no fixing it but the wolves cant continue to trot out the same lineup and expect them to figure it out, it doesnt work. the no.1 thing ppl are pointing out compared to last year is defense and rightfully so but too many guys are shooting significantly worse. theyre 11th right now in 3pt pct which isnt bad, but last year they were 3rd. last year only 2 out of their top 6 volume 3pt shooters were below league avg in pct, this year only 2 out of 6 above. ant great year shooting, ast/to ratio last year 1.65, this year 1.19. jaden mcdaniels on/off -16.8.

either bench mcdaniels for alexander-walker yes youre smaller and worse defensively but you now have another shooter on the floor, or bench randle for reid or do both, but do something.

if wolves miss playoffs/play in do they blow it up? I think maybe they trade all except AE..

also think they might look into some vets.. do they got enough for another win now move?

FG % is gonna be the next batting average used to be important until it aint...
I think it might be eFG% due to the amount of 3s, surprised that it’s still “advanced” analytics and rarely reported

theyre past the 2nd apron so they cant aggregate salary in a trade and they cant take back more in salary than they send out so basically they have to do a 1 for 1 trade that makes them better while also lowers their salary cap hit. doesnt seem plausible theyll find someone to give them a cheaper better player in a trade. they really have to try and make it work with what they have for this season and also so they can decide whats the best options for them moving forward.

their 25-26 team cap figure is 190mil, they can easily clear off almost 7mil of that by not picking up options on end of bench guys, but really that doesnt move the needle or give them flexibility. if randle picks up his option can you find a willing trade partner? whats mcdaniels value especially if he plays as poorly as he has to start this season?
25-26 contracts
gobert 35mil with 3 years remaining
randle 30.9mil player option
mcdaniels 24.8mil with 4 years remaining
conley 10.8 mil expiring
reid 15mil player option

That's what happens when you replace the best shooting big man with the WOAT. Spacing is all fukked up.

What the Knicks have going for them is they're on the right side of .500 on an adequate trajectory (winning 6 of the last 10) while still missing 2 impact role players.

Whereas the Wolves are on the wrong side of .500, on a plummeting trajectory (lost 7 of the last 10) and unless it's slipped my mind they basically have their core team out there, with geriatric Conley having returned.
