It’s crazy to me that he won’t exploit mismatches near the rim as a first option. Being a jump shooter behind the arc gives the defense an out. It may look cool for highlight purposes but it doesn’t give you a chance to win right now.This.
The guy will never be a great three point shooter. I think ~35% is his ceiling. Does not warrant over 3 attempts per game honestly.
Simply hurts his team by taking them. The guy is much more Giannis than KD.
He was bad in the clutch last year with suns iircIm surprised nobody checked you on this post.
KD is filthy every season. Im not sure why KD gets underrated but he’s legit top 10-15 player ever. He hasnt shot under 50% from the floor since 2013. The wildest shyt ive ever heard was when people said Melo was comparable/better offensively.
You didnt say clutch tho. As great as KD is, there’s plenty of all-time great players i’d rather have in a clutch situation. He was bad in the clutch last year with suns iirc
It's a the hardest settle I've ever seen.
Exactly. Opposing coaches/defenses don't want to see Wemby going downhill. It’s crazy to me that he won’t exploit mismatches near the rim as a first option. Pacers looking like the second best team in the East.

At the end of the day, the biggest NBA super stars are winners. If Wemby wants to win and the league wants a true face that already is a household name, dude got to prioritize attacking so that they can win.
It's like you know how all the craziest players have the potential to do a whole bunch of shyt in practice/shootaround, but they know not to make it their on-court NBA game? It's basically the same thing here, but this guy is actually doing shyt he should only be doing during shootarounds and show only occasionally (like a big hitting a 3 pointer every-now-and-then).
3/4 plays of Wemby's plays should be ending like this for him, except he's creating that attack with his own handle after blowing by his defender:
Handle is great and fancy at that size, but get downhill with it. Go over the top every chance.
Put pressure on the rim, get fouls, create highlights >>>> stepback threes that clunk.
Yup. Dude has way too many advantages to be taking those shots. Dude can still be a threat to shoot, without it being a hamper to production.Facts! Just because you can doesn't mean you should, that Edey clip is a good example because being big is still a premium in the NBA. Like you said put pressure on the rim and get guys in foul trouble, and if you really want those stepback threes I'd much rather him do that later on in a game when he's got something going already.
