Based off of that convention center requirement, there are only 12 cities that have that big a convention center. Salt Lake City, Boston, and Denver dont make it. Phoenix (if they are strict) dont make it (645,000 sq ft).

Cities that do: Houston, NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, Detroit, DC, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Cleveland, Toronto

Indianapolis actually does have one that big (715,000 sq ft), so they must have had a terrible weekend if they decided to just put this out

This seems like a short sighted move by the league. Instead of alienating the cities your league is in, build them up, or order your owners to. In the NFL we got owners creating an entire ecosystem around their team, they building stadiums, convention centers, facilities, etc. constantly to make their team a commodity even in the offseason.

If they had a bad weekend in Indiana they should instead be putting some resources into Indiana so that they won't have a bad weekend the next time. That's my take.

Lowkey I think location has been an underrated factor in the disinterest in the ASG. Cleveland, Salt Lake, and Indiana is a bad 3 year stretch for players, fans and celebs. Once every few years to break up going to the same cities? Okay. But 3 consecutive years? Malpractice.
