There’s an assumption that the Jazz would be this terrible team just because they traded Rudy and Don.

Tanking is not Ainge’s style and the Jazz have too many solid, veteran players to be a true tank squad.

Lauri, Conley, Clarkson, Sexton, Beasley, Vanderbilt, THT, Olynyk, and an instant impact rookie in Kessler. That’s a 35-40 win squad.

Lauri showing y’all he can hoop, this is mostly off being “the Finnisher” three ball hasn’t even been falling like that yet
Quite a few of those guys on that list are going to be gone by the trade deadline especially Beasley and Clarkson who contenders could use their services. Even Conley would have been gone by now if he wasn't washed as a player.

Ainge has also tanked before Boston, so the notion that it's not his style isn't entirely true.

They haven’t traded them yet and while that roster is still in tact they will be competitive and surprise teams. Conley can still hoop.

I don’t remember Boston tanking even through their rebuild they remained competitive and in their worst year they weren’t quite as bad as other teams.

It’s still early in the season and a lot of these teams aren’t going to blow it up yet. Conley has been washed for years now. I think a lot of these teams are going to start blowing it up before the trade deadline and before they get too far ahead of other competing teams. It’s why the Lakers are probably going to wait on trading Westbrook as a better deal might come to fruition at a cheaper cost.

Boston benefitted from those Brooklyn picks, but there were a couple of years where they did try and tank but didn’t completely bottom out.

@mozichrome can you make a gif of that shot attempt by Niang at the end of the first quarter of the Sixers game?

How the fukk is the league allowing this blatant traveling? :mindblown:

Conley is still effective. One of the most efficient pull up three ball shooters in the league, still has quickness and dexterity, and never turns it over. He’s not as good as he used to be but he’s still a good point guard.

Boston was bad only one year where they won 25 games.

I think they will be fine once they get rhythm but you cant have your best player being in and out like this, its just bad for building chemistry. They also gotta make some moves and bring in guys who fit better. I am not sure about Norman Powell so far

Kawhi's absence is also more noticeable considering the lack of structure with LAC offense...lotta guys on that team have a scorer first mentality

His contract is the problem and his play is rather mehhh that contenders are going to be hesitant to take it on.

That was the year they blew it up and tanked by trading away KG those other guys. The tank didn’t last long because Isaiah Thomas came into picture and they started benefiting from those Brooklyn picks. Ainge still tanked and planned on tanking, it just worked out more than he could have imagined.

RJ Barrett stinking it up. 0-3 already and 0-2 for 3.

He hasn’t made a three yet this year and is shooting 33 percent from the field :scust:

They tanked the year before they got KG for the Oden/Durant trade, then once pick fell to fifth he packaged it for Ray Allen

They also tanked in Brad Stevens first year. I remember through the first month and a half of the season they were around .500 and in playoff position in the East. Jordan Crawford even won player of the week at one point. He then traded him and a few other players on the team and they were trash the rest of year, finished with only 25 wins.

He also tried to tank Stevens second season but they ended up going on a crazy run after they got IT and made the playoffs

Please tell me someone has the clip that just happened in the Knicks game. Frazier said "look how the ball is moving" and as soon as he said that, Quickley threw the ball into the crowd. :dead:
