Back in 2021, it felt like there were 8-10 players who could make an argument for the annual barbershop "top 5". This season seems to be heading down a similar path:
AD, Jokic, Doncic, Embiid are all monsters so far. 30 PER class. Giannis dipped a bit but is still getting it done at a top 5 level; it's just relatively low for his standards. You got SGA who is having a "top 5 player" type of season... more efficient than Zion, Ja, Tatum... and those guys are having phenomenal superstar seasons leading their teams to current #1 seeds in their respective conferences. Then still, the old guards in KD, Curry, etc.
Health is wealth bc we're in this perfect storm of (1) young bloods, (2) premiere players, and (3) old heads with still a lot left in the gas tank.
