I don’t think he wants to carry a team on his back for long, it develops wear and tear and he needs a team backing him to win. The hornets fumbled 2 seasons already.

Miles might be done playing in the league after what happened, they better figure out what's going on cause Lamelo can go anywhere and teams could use a player like him. If Jordan is leaving the team to manage chances are things will change around there.
Melo isn't turning down that max extension, so they have time to figure it out. I think posters are forgetting that the cap is about to increase and a lot of those players aren't going to turn down the 5th year from their current teams and the money that will come along with it just to leave as a FA.
