1st Round Playoff Exits
I think the best move long term for the Blazers is to trade Dame. Any realistic move they can make doesn’t put them into true contender status, IMO. How many more years do you think Dame has to play at a high level? He’ll be 33 at the beginning of next season, so maybe 2-3 more years?
worry about your own squad buddy:

they're gonna be farther away without him.

There's gonna be a major talent drought in the league over the next 2-3 seasons because most of these prospects suck.

Put it this way: normally even if you're in the lottery you can still get excited about some of these young players. It's hard to get excited about the Anthony Black's of this class.

Short term, yes.

Long term, tbd.

They’re not close with him now and I don’t see a move set that puts them close to title contention while Dame is still a viable centerpiece to a franchise.

Why would Minny do that?
So they gave away 5 first rounders for dogshyt like McGee/Bertans/Bullock?
The picks they gave up basically guarantees they're keeping Rudy.

It's obvious Minny is gonna have to move someone this off-season and it ain't Rudy. It's the other 7 footer who doesn't play defense and can actually net some value in a trade
Dallas would likely trade them the 10th pick as well …but either way they gotta forget the 4 draft picks given up ..they’re never getting those back …you can’t do the whole sunken cost thing at this point …They won 46 games without Gobert last year i don’t think they need to keep anchoring themselves to him

Yeah the Gobert thing is a sunk cost at this point for Minny. You can’t make future decisions about the team based on what you gave up for Rudy.

There’s a growing mountain of evidence that he’s not a great locker room guy and is incredibly difficult to play with. If you gotta move him, you move him.
