Cam Thomas was drafted into the league because of his scoring ability. A lot of rookies and young players are buried on the benches of vet teams because they have coaches that don't play younger players. Happens across the league. Just in this case, the stars aligned for him to do this with KD and Kyrie not playing. And of course Ben Simmons being a 1 way player basically.
