How can you bring yourself to spend money for NBA tickets?

Unless you live in some small market where tickets are less expensive (Memphis? New Orleans?) I don't know how people watch basketball games live.

In NY, even if you go to watch a bad visiting team the tickets will run you $150 a pop and you're still way back there.

Let the Lakers or Warriors visit, and you're looking at double that. And you're still not anywhere near the floor.
For people with a family, it's just ridiculous to drop that kind of money for 2 hours.

From a distance you look at these contracts and you're glad these guys are getting paid. They "made it". Great. Whatever. But try to actually watch them in person...it will hit you who is paying that salary.

:picard:

Wizards tickets are so affordable. I get to sit in the 100 levels for $50-$60 a ticket :blessed:

I wish I could go to an NBA game for $50.

I can go to a baseball game for that (or cheaper) and the tickets aren't super close but baseball stadiums are such that you don't actually NEED to be field level to get a good view.

But to me, basketball is like football. If you're not close by, you are way better off just watching the game on tv.

It's to the point that I'm thinking...if I want to go watch Lebron or Curry or any one of these stars live....I might be better off traveling to DC or Texas, making a vacation out of it and watching the games there. But that kinda defeats the purpose a bit because I'd like to watch some stars play at MSG.
