As much as Giannis is the best player in the league, we’ve watched Embiid and Jokic leave big games this week with the lead and watched their teammates blow it in a matter of minutes. Giannis is very privileged. Not that I think this should decide the MVP race, just saying tho
You're not wrong... tho granted how much of KD and Lebron's "best player in the league" designation came off the privilege of winning on stacked/super teams? This Bucks team is top tier now but just a year ago they were considered 2nd fiddle behind healthy versions of Nets/Lakers/Clippers, with ppl questioning the mental toughness of Jru and Khris (and Giannis).
Point is, best player labels have never truly been precise bc a lot of it is based on "winning" with a lot of leeway (or disregard) with how the shyt is won. Super teams, tough luck injuries to the opponent, sidekicks doing the heavy-lifting, etc... the means doesn't matter, as long as the ends is the win secured. You can imagine how that can quickly/easily fukk any type of objective discussion.
