the play-in can be a bit of a risk for the nba like last year where the warriors would have been in the playoffs so they traded 3 play-in games for a whole series without curry, but i think they look at it like the 3 extra tv playoff type games are worth the risk because in most instances the team with more star power will get in anyway so theyll get the best of both worlds. its here to stay and i dont even think theyll modify it if theres a huge gap below the 8 seed because its guaranteed revenue.

unrelated, i did not know pete myers was on the 86-87 bulls, played 29 reg season games and 1 whole minute in their playoff series.
