it's been clear for a couple of years Rudy cleans up their perimeter defense...their wings don't stop penetration but Gobert is such a force at the rim, he usually erases all their miscues

the Clippers last year didn't play Gobert off the floor, they just abused all the other defenders on the Jazz and forced Gobert to help on defense while no other Jazz player rotated over to pick up Gobert's man.

It's amazing that a lot of people don't understand that concept of what happened.

Did you see what Terrance Mann did to him in Game 6? Small ball was the problem and the deciding factor. Not trying to downplay his importance or prowess on defense but that series showed if you have a capable forward that can rebound and make a 3, you can neutralize him.

It wasn’t just guys getting beat; their entire scheme is based off Rudy house sitting in the paint anyway. They may have been better off with him sitting but you never know.
