the ringer must be in shambles that their preseason MVP pick Doncic is fumbling the MVP.
That's the Bill Simmons site right?

Jokic is everything they wanted Doncic to be.. but since Nikola looks more Ivan Drago than Leonardo DiCaprio, they'll probably hold out a little longer before begrudgingly pivoting to him.

Even if the Nets upgrade their center position, their more glaring problem is their closing unit. Most contenders suffer if they have more than 1 defensive liability they have to rely on for the tradeoff on offense... the Nets basically have 3 (Kyrie, Harden, Harris)... which puts added pressure on Durant and Green to make big defensive plays to compensate.

A savvy playoff team is gonna just hunt Kyrie (or Harris) on switches to break down the defense and put pressure on the other 2 liabilities to make the right reads when the ball starts swinging to shooters and cutters.
This is a valid point but I think the main team that will be able to exploit that would be the Lakers. It’s a lock for whoever Harris or Kyrie is guarding will be going to screen for lebron and force the switch every possession of the last 5 minutes

Luka is the MVP favorite though :russ:

I don’t mind Luka but this season will be his first test. If he’s getting gassed for MVP then this team better be in the playoffs because right now a comparison can definitely be drawn to another guy with the same offerings albeit much more maligned...

fukk Beal. Could have been gone but he took the money. Let him rot on that trash as Wizards team.
He really loves DC and gave them a chance, the roster right now is very bad. Robin Lopez is the 2nd best player tonight lol
Half the roster is out cause of Covid

Rui, rookie Avdija, Bertans all would be helping right now.

Losing Bryant was devastating cause kid was starting to come into his own

I think Atlanta was doing it by accident in this game, partly because Harris was assigned to guard Trae and was up on him, so Trae would just blow by him. There were a few separate occasions where after an initial drive (i forget by who) Kyrie and Joe each got caught ball watchin or in no man's land that led to backdoor layups.

I think the Lakers are the best at exploiting when you only have 1 defensive liability, because Bron can manipulate the PnR.. but when you have 3 guys to choose from, and 2 of them being particularly spotty... shiiiiiid lol. Even inexperienced teams gon stumble into it.
