NEW YORK -- After being exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19, Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant is facing a week-long quarantine as part of the league's health and safety protocols, sources told ESPN.

Durant, who had COVID-19 back in May, has continued to register coronavirus antibodies, sources said. As of Monday afternoon, Durant had tested negative for coronavirus three times, sources said.

According to the Center for Disease Control, antibodies are "proteins that help fight off infections and can provide protection against getting that disease again." Scientists are still unsure of what degree of immunity antibodies provide against being infected again. The NBA's COVID-19 protocols do not distinguish between players who have antibodies and those who do not.

In the week that Durant is slated to miss, Brooklyn is scheduled to play Utah, Philadelphia, Memphis and Oklahoma City.

Durant, who missed the entirety of the 2019-20 season rehabbing an Achilles injury, has started in all six of the Nets' games this year. He is averaging 28.2 points, 7 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game in 34 minutes of playing time.

He's gonna miss 7 days, and more importantly 4 games, and likely not test positive :mindblown: This is weak policy by the league

Kobe did it with like Walton, Lamar, mihm and smush as his teammates :stopitslime:

That’s right once Shaq was no longer the #1 option on the Lakers and he left after bringing the team to dynastic glory (and the greatest winning stretch they have experienced since magic which hasn’t been replicated yet) kobe really came into his own as the number one guy on the team

prior to that Shaq was winning league mvps, finals mvps, scoring titles so Kobe was relegated to the second option and wasn’t allowed to showcase his scoring prowess

wow I’m glad you remember your history, you miserable hating fakkit :salute:

Ringer has a good article on the changes Ty Lue has made compared to last year, so far.

FRAeBwZ.png

Lou Williams is down to 35 touches per game this year. Damn near cut in half. PG meanwhile has become the primary ball handler and prioritizes hunting mismatches when he calls his own number.

They also detail how Batum and Ibaka became major upgrades, including floor spacing:

And how Ibaka is a major upgrade over Harrell defensively, even in PnR defense:

And finally they mentioned the same shyt i've said several times already:

The big decision for Lue will be how to use Marcus Morris when he returns from a knee injury that has kept him out all season. Batum has been so good as a starter that it might make more sense to feature Morris and his more ball-dominant style on the second unit. The most intriguing lineup option is replacing Beverley with Morris, and playing five players 6-foot-7 or taller who can all spread the floor and guard multiple positions. This is a scarier Clippers team than last season’s, largely because they have a more creative coach who puts his players in the best position to succeed.
