What the hell kind of order is this??
* Bucks will still have the best record.
* The Nets, sixers, and Pacers are all better for a myriad of reasons.
* Boston takes a step back- Lost Hayward and Kemba will be out for 3 months.
* Toronto takes a step back- Relocation, lost Ibaka/Gasol.
* Miami basically has the same squad.... Butler's going to pace himself during the regular season.
* The last spot is going to come down to Wizards,Hawks and Magic.......On paper, the Hawks should make the playoffs. However, there are a couple of things that concern me :
- They rely too much on 6'1 T.Young- This is going to be a dense season. Can Young carry a big load without getting fatigued.
- J.Collins could be a problem- Turned down 90m and wants a near max...Got suspended 25 gms last season for testing positive for hgh.
Collins quote in March
"I definitely feel like I am in max contract contention. If I finish this season averaging 20 and 10, the other guys who are averaging 20 and 10 are max-caliber guys. I'm in that conversation and feel like I am worthy of being extended as such. That's for the Hawks to decide and figure it out. If you want to look at numbers and flat-out play, I definitely feel like I've earned it. But the team situation, future cap and all that, now you have a contract negotiation."
I don't see Collins playing enough minutes to avg 20p/10r this season...Nor do I think Atlanta wants to pay him near max...Is he going to become a locker room malcontent when he sees his playing time and numbers dropping?......... I would definitely consider trading Collins in a package for Harden.
- The R.Rondo situation- Off-court lawsuit...and is he going to be content sitting on the bench?
Atlanta is still a relatively young team. Will these issues become a distraction?
