well if he keeps it up, then he's gonna make sure is next coach is black too

If one is willing to take the job on the cheap then maybe. Detroit is a rebuilding team, so there's no need to go out and get a big name. Get an assistant on the cheap and go through the rebuilding process.

Grant has exceeded everyone's expectations, but it remains to seen if he can actually be the guy or he is just mainly benefitting from the opportunity of being the #1 guy there.

Highly Unlikely...HOWEVER

There are circumstances at play.

Confidence
Coaching
City Advantage

The Knicks are playing well when you want to be playing well. For these teams to meet it would be in the 2nd round which would mean they already drew blood getting out of the first. Thibs has been through some playoff wars and this will be Nash’s first go. On top of that there is no question who NYC will be behind. I wonder how The Clippers & Nets would handle scenarios like this. Normal fully occupied arenas you can’t control who buys tickets but I would think in a COVID world with limited seating are they going to try and find a way to make sure there teams have fan presence in the crowd? I can easily see Knicks & Lakers fans buying all the available tickets

the knicks are streaking because they're somehow healthy despite thibs running guys into the ground :dead: they got a continuity that the majority of the league couldn't even imagine having this year

If the Knicks and the Hawks end up facing each other as the four-five seed matchup, the #1 team in the East will have an easy path to the Conference Finals

And they've a soft schedule during this stretch, which helps as well. That's why I'm curious to see how they do against Phoenix on Monday.

he wants a black coach and opportunity to show out

he showed out. done. he's now got some leverage to influence a coach staying or what kind of coach is coming in (as opposed to none before) :mjlol: "big name" or all the other shyt that goes into coaching aside.... dude's checklist is clear to have at least one thing on it and its respectable as fukk

Slow down there breh :whoa:

He's performed well, but let's not act like he now has the star power and leverage to influence whether the coach stays or goes :mjlol:

some leverage is better than no leverage. dude can hoop and looks better as a piece on a rebuilding team than just another role player on a fake contender

and nah that ain't something to slow down or argue just to argue over. breh wants a black coach and bet the direction of his career on it. nothing to dance on regarding shyt like that

For the 2nd half of the season, the 3-way race between BK PHI and MIL for the #1 seed will be lit :ehh:

The two losers will have to go life n death vs each other in the 2nd round, whereas the top seed may have a light path to the ECF

If the Knicks and the Hawks end up facing each other as the four-five seed matchup, the #1 team in the East will have an easy path to the Conference Finals
Damn schedule is brutal man seriously. I dont know where these teams gonna finish

Philly done had that #1 seed for like 90% of the season too.

BK reclaimed it but still 12 games to go. More than enough time for further musical chairs

Agreed, but again let's not kid ourselves like Detroit isn't years away from even being a play-in team. We know these things work and there's no guarantee that Mitchell will be there or even Grant himself will be there to see it through the end.

There's no bruh nothing :mjlol:

We all know how the NBA works and how easily coaches and GM's get panned when the team isn't performing. It's rather dope of why he went there, but let's not act like he's performed well enough to dictate and have input on the next coach. If he balls out and the team is still bad, then they are going to likely move him as they aren't going to want to invest $100+ in a player who doesn't fit their timeline. Don't act or pretend like we haven't seen it happen before.
