taylor jenkins regularly gets outcoached. that was an inexcusable loss. and why is winslow playing more than melton? and no one wanted to share the ball. looked like a streetball game they were playing.

You right. I wish they didn’t. If only Ja wasn’t this good so fast

If they can get JJJ to become who people think he will be, then they’ll be just fine.

The one thing that scares me about the team thought is that they remind me of the Sacramento Kings. A good collection of talent, but no one on the roster that can take them to the next level and elevate the franchise. That could be JJJ, but he still has a ways to go. So in that aspect you might be right that they should have tanked and hoped to find a true differencemaker in the draft.

What the Grizzlies is a high floor, ? ceiling team. The Grizzlies would rather draft guys who don't have a super high ceiling but are good enough to win you games and be competitive against really good teams.

The concept of getting a franchise player and then tanking a couple more times hoping to strike gold again is unrealistic. The Grizzlies in many ways have already gotten what they could from that strategy (Ja and JJJ). Now it's on them to find that next guy later in the draft. What they do instead is draft solid supporting role guys instead of swing for the fences. Look at their cast.

SlowMo, Ted Cruz Jr, Bane, Brooks, Clarke, Tyus Jones, Melton, Tillie, Tillman, JV, nobody who can be great on their own but are really good supplemental pieces.

This year's draft, they should draft the guy with the highest upside, regardless of how far away that player is.
