He declined the team USA invite FYI but he def taking all star shyt to heart, he knows they need some wins though. Man, I don’t think people quite understand how nasty his scoring is right now, he looks incredible. You aren’t far off saying that about his overall toolset. He’s about to have a huge year.

I was under the impression that he was in the initial camps but then not extended an invitation to join the final pool. Thanks for the correction.

Having Joe Harris, Marcus Smart and Derrick White making the Olympic team over you has to be motivation. He has flew under the radar nationally since he's come back from the injury but I think 23, 4, 4 is an all star year if the team just wins 40 games. If he ramps up his production (close to guaranteed) and could put the bulls back in the playoff hunt, I can see him getting All-NBA consideration.

He has one of the prettiest offensive games you will ever see. Speed, quickness, shifty, beautiful shot form and hejumps so high he always gets good looks, wild range on his shot and maybe the most vertically explosive guard since.... shyt I cant remember anyone gliding thru the air like him since.... I don't even want to put those kinds of comparison out there.

And now that he's playing defense, using his speed first step to attack the basket and playing with a high motor all game, i don't think 27-32 PPG is out of the question.

27-32 PPG is out of the question and id bet on it :mjlol:

You think Lavine is about to be a top 5 scorer and possible challenge for the scoring title :stopitslime:

Pre season needs to be over :stopitslime:

Zach's probably capable of hitting 27+ ppg in the right situation (after all, he did average 24 ppg in his first season as a #1 option last year), but he's not going to have the opportunities to do that playing in regular lineups with Lauri and Otto.

Chris Fleming has changed this offense a bit. I think Zach will be clear number one and might have the green light to do it. Looking like a faster pace, with more spacing this season, and emphasis on increasing 3pt attempts. I think he should be comfortably at 25 a night, we’ll have a better idea in a few weeks. Beauty of Lauri is he can just score within the natural flow, nothing needs to be forced for him

As arbitrary as being an All-Star is, as it relates to actual individual performance, then, sure, why not? The only thing that would stand his way is: health, the Bulls record, and other guards having better All-Star narratives (which is all down to popularity).

Being an all star in the NBA is more noriety than other sports it means something in relation to the sport....27 PPG puts him there as long as theyre not a 22 win team...

and that would be a big deal for him...

It doesn't really mean anything, my bro, it's a popularity and narrative contest.

Zach was literally one spot away from making the All-Star game last season, and at the time voting was closed, his ppg was in the mid-20s, which was higher than Beal, Lowry, Kyrie, Oladipo (replaced by D'Angelo), Wade, and Simmons. Kemba was the only guard who was averaging more points at the time. Even if he was averaging a couple more points to hit 27 ppg last season, he still wouldn't have been an All-Star because there wasn't a strong enough narrative behind him.

i think this is a valid question, have you watched Zach play last season or this season?
He's only 24 which is right around the time good scorers start to impose their will on the game and become dominant scorers.

He would have averaged 25+ last season with a better system and team around him, he was only one point away from 25 with no PG to lessen his playmaking responsibilities or help him get easy shots.

I just don't understand how you could have watched him recently and don't think he's an elite scorer.

24 PPG on 47% from the field, 37% from 3 and 83% from the line is elite. He's right behind Harden and Klay, on that tier with Beal, Booker and CJ offensively.
The stats show it and he passes the eye test with flying colors.

Because its ONE fukkn season....i dont anoint nikkas elite because of ONE season scoring 23 PPG in 60 games....Nikkas just assuming hes going to jump into top 5 scoring territory because of ONE season are being optimistic...Wiggins averaged 23 PPG in his 3rd season in the league NOT his 5th were we assuming he was an elite scorer :francis:

NO because it takes more than 1 season to be in that elite category....

Yes i have but i want to see more than one season which wasnt a full season...
Regardless of the raw production last season the skillset, coupled with the athleticism is evident. His ability to attack the basket evolved so much last season, that I wouldn’t blame people for not knowing, since the Bulls weren’t worth watching last season unless you’re a fan. You pair that with his ability to shoot off the dribble from anywhere, how good he is on the break, and how much his handle has tightened, not many players in the league have a such a complete scoring skillset. Zach is one of the hardest workers in the league, he’s not done evolving.

The big key I’m seeing in preseason is that Chris Fleming has helped to modernize the Bulls offense. More pushing the pace, more spacing, more 3s and we added some pieces that should give Zach more room to operate with guys like Otto, Sato, Thad & Coby.

Trolling aside, you’re going to see early on just how dynamic this dude is now, keep an eye once the season starts.
