He's definitely somewhere up there, but I think Butler has taken a lot of the attention away from his play since being on the team. IMO, Giannis, PG and Jokic have been the best players on their respective teams over a more generous period, plus both Giannis' and Jokic's teams have lost fewer games (plural).

With that said, it changes from game to game, because it really is the widest open MVP race in recent memory.

Kawhi like Embiid is somewhere in the conversation (just not a leading candidate), but what weighs heavily against him is that his team is 7-1 without him, and with him, they're only 16-8, which is not to say they're a better team without his efforts, just that they've still been able to win at a high rate without him, which should be taken into account.

Normally you post debatable things but I cant get mad at this post. I would personally say the raps record without Leonard is fools gold. That team looks noticeably better when he plays especially defensively
