Interesting take.

Bzdelik was Melo's very first NBA coach and they did not get along. remember, Bzdelik benched Melo because of Melo's lack of defensive effort and subsequently got fired. maybe Bzdelik holds a grudge, maybe not. its possible that he was optimistic coming in to the season until he found out they were losing Ariza and Luc and decided to retire (temporarily). When the Rockets got off to a bad start, and they asked Bzdelik to come back, I think he wouldve been ok with Melo if he had other pieces...but with just Melo and Ennis, he knew the defense wouldnt be up to par so Melo had to go. its too much to lose 2 guys that are good defenders and bring in one that isnt. people said SA would be better this yer because Kawhi didnt play last year and they have Demar who is a 25ppg scorer. well, Demar cant replace Kawhi's defense and the Spurs really dont have any other really good defenders. Bzdelik is in HOU for one reason and thats defense, so Melo had to go whether there was. grudge or not.

Not necessarily. They are most likely going to have the same problems when they come back have you not seen the rest of their roster? Outside of PJ Tucker and Capela sometimes when he's not playing like he got paid, what elite defenders do they have? Bzdelik most likely gave them an ultimatum and wanted Melo out. Yes people do hold grudges especially since I haven't seen Bzdelik get a head coach job since.

This is one of the rare times when Bryan Colangelo gets credit,he brought him to Toronto from Houston initially to be a backup to Jose Calderon and to hopefully fight for the starting job in 2012...Raptors brought him in and gave him minutes and allowed him to work himself into what hes become without any pressure...

For sure. He also was getting better every year. How many guys come into the league not being able to shoot and end up becoming elite shooters? That almost never happens. I can’t even think of another example. Lowry should run a camp when he retires

If only u guys could have kept TRoss and traded Norm instead though

It's possible they don't land a big fish. The "wait until free agency" strategy is risky. Sometimes players end up liking where they are (like Paul George) and you don't even have a chance to sign him. Sometimes those rookies that you wouldn't trade aren't so good.

Jimmy with the Sixers, Klay with the Warriors, Kawhi with the Raptors. They are all doing well with their current teams. There's no guarantee they are all moving.

Even if Kawhi decided to go to LA, don't sleep on the Clippers. A team with good role players competing in the west just waiting for a star to lead them. A team where Kawhi can be the man in his home town with no drama, no Bron ball, and less pressure.

Nah Dolan changed his mind because of the Melo to Denver trade he had already done with Ujiri,he was afraid of dealing with him....
