So, I completely missed the game last night and I'm mad as sh*t that I missed Steph going off. @Gil Scott-Heroin, I'm going to need you to re-evaluate your current MVP candidates list. Steph coming for it this season (again).
While Steph's name will pop up from time to time for talking point purposes, he most probably won't be a legitimate MVP candidate due to voter fatigue and competing for attention with Durant. He'll need to perform on another level from Kawhi, AD, Giannis etc, which isn't sustainable for an entire season. At the end of the day, since the bones of the MVP are made out of narrative, it doesn't really matter if he wins it or not, as it won't add anything to his legacy - only his play will.
