because it gives them a 3rd all star and the best trio of perimeter players outside of golden state. sure you lose your two best rim protectors, but they've only won 3 games in the 1st round the last 2 years and their 2 best players will be 30 and 31 by the time the playoffs roll around next year.

from washington's perspective i think you'd like to get a potential all star or at least a likely lottery pick or two, but you're trading away beal knowing you're likely tanking the next two years and he hurts that and he'll leave in free agency in 2 years anyway.

One of the only times I agree with older players complaints Kyrie, Klay, Kawhi and Kemba are the last of the guys that didn’t really cash out on their second contracts.
