Simons will ultimately be CJ's replacement. Right now he's being groomed to take Curry's 6th man role off the bench next season.
Simons gets to learn and mimic under Dame. Dame is irreplaceable, but CJ could moved by his final contract year.
Hopefully this kid can learn to play defense
He's undoubtedly the blazers best draft pick since CJ in 2013.
if anyone watched allen in summer league and preseason, it was clear as day his tools offensively can translate, especially in the nba with more space. he is now becoming an average defender which increases his value and opportunity to see the court especially with quin snyder who values defense first. he'll be a surprising weapon off the bench against houston (i'm going to go to at least 1 or 2 games here in htown). his rookie season is basically mimicking his freshman year at duke where he started getting minutes/producing off the bench late in the year, then blew up in the tourney/playoffs. donovan mitchell clearly loves him and i think in the next 1-2 years they can be a younger version of dame and CJ in portland.
