Just asking to ask, not patronizing you, but do you think it's fair to do it this year but not last year where Donovan had a very strong argument? I don't think it's as close as this year but it seemed neck and neck to me when you factor in the externals that dont gotta do with individual play
I think Donovan had an equal argument to win it , especially the one year Ben Simmons situation kinda swayed me towards D Mitch.. it was a close call and could have been split.. I mean can’t split the shyt every year :russ:, but when it’s close as last year and this year where two guys equally make an impact and both deserve it, why not?

For the record, I lean towards Trae and same for D Mitch last year..

Since you brought that up, do think the Trae/Luka race is closer than the Mitchell/Simmons one from last year ?

I think the biggest thing, and it's a factor for everyone in life not just sports, but what have you done for me lately? It sucks that that's the case, but typically, finishing hot has been a huge part of what decided close races. Like Russ clinching the MVP with that 50 point triple double, he finished hotter than anyone. Harden was still doin his thing but he wasn't on that level. Luka is still doing better than 99% of rookies but he isnt giving you that same fire that had IG hot like in November, or like Trae now.

With that being said, I dont know who finished hotter last year. Ben was dropping triple doubles almost nightly, they had the 13 game winning streak, he didnt have Embiid for like half that streak. Conversely, Donovan and Utah lost like 4 games over the last 2 months and 22+ with ~5 ASTs nightly. He was the #1 and #2 scoring option for the team, was coming into his own as a secondary facilitator to Rubio, and didn't get the late season additions that directly coincided with an uptick to success like Ben did with Marco and Ersan.

Basically, I thought Donovan won the "do you mean more to your team" argument conclusively, but Ben was doing more impressive things statistically. It felt like a closer argument, but this situation deserves the co-MVP treatment more, if that makes sense.

if it weren't for GS, Houston would be seen as the favorite to win the title

now I think the Bucks & (when they play like they actually want to be a team) the Celtics would be right there too, but Houston would get the edge
At this point, you'd have to put a gun to my head for me to ever pick Houston to be that

I’m just not high on Houston as everyone is.. aside from Harden and CP3,Clint Capela as well their roster is thin and Dantoni n Harden have yet to show and prove they can rise above to another level come playoff time

This was the funniest part of the clippers broadcast

McClean: Harden cheats, just dribbles and does ISO all the time, drawing fouls is his big skill, hard to watch. That's just not good basketball. Meanwhile, this Clippers team plays the right way. No superstar egos demanding they score most of the points, everyone knows their roles and they all come to practice and work hard. That's the style of basketball I like.

Lawler: Well, the style of basketball you like is down 35 points at the moment

MacLean is a lot like Rick Barry. Even when you agree with a particular view they have, it is very difficult to listen to. I don't know why either one is ever used for commentary.

And it's comical that he talks so salty about Hardens foul baiting when he has Lou Williams on his team.
