it's a travesty Klay hasn't made an all defensive team :why:

Kevin Durant Rips Voters, Says Klay Thompson Deserves All-Defensive Team Spot

Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson has never been selected to an All-Defensive Team in his career, which Kevin Durant says is an indictment on the voters.

His teammate had a strong response Monday when asked whether Thompson deserved the defensive honor.

"Yeah, but the people that vote on that don't really know the game," Durant said, per Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle.

While Thompson is often overlooked offensively with Durant and Stephen Curry on the team, and defensively alongside Draymond Green, his work was on full display in Saturday's win against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The five-time All-Star mostly matched up against Russell Westbrook and held him to seven points on 2-of-16 shooting from the field, which helped keep the Thunder to just 88 points for the game. He spoke about his play after the game:

MVP candidate James Harden has also struggled against the Warriors, shooting only 39.7 percent from the field in his three games.

"There's not many guards that is better than Klay defensively," Green said Saturday, per Mark Medina of the Mercury News.

Thompson earned eight first-place votes for the All-Defensive Team last year, although it wasn't enough to beat out guards Victor Oladipo, Jrue Holiday, Dejounte Murray or Jimmy Butler for a spot on one of the two lists.

Perhaps his impressive work against the biggest names in the NBA will help get him more attention by the time votes are cast for 2018-19.

Of course, it's possible Durant is also upset that he has never earned All-Defensive Team recognition either, and this is his way of calling out voters on behalf of his teammate.

@duckbutta they ducking the fade, already got their excuses lined up for tonight's L.

I don't expect you guys to watch the whole thing but I found it pretty fascinating and he raises some very valid points

basically the Spurs system is a cult of personality centered around Pop
anybody who plays in it must submit to Pop
he seeks out euros and d-league players because the majority of them are just happy to be there and won't question his authority, which is paramount

he doesn't allow superstars to shine and sabotages them

he doesn't like to much individuality, probably due to his military background

he made a really interesting point about players not really being allowed to create a brand for themselves and seek endorsement opportunities

Pop DOES get the most out of players, many of whom would be scrubs anywhere else. but once a player can possibly be seen as bigger than Pop or the Spurs system he finds a way to handicap them

this is why Tony Parker is not mentioned in any top 5 pg conversations, Pop hampered him and reigned him in

it's fukked up what he did to Manu. moving him to the 6th man role was him exerting control over him and demonstrating to Manu and anybody else in the organization that he's in charge and has the power to do whatever he wants.

players must toe the company line and not make too many headlines.

no players is allowed to be bigger than the system, but Pop IS allowed to be bigger than the system and make headlines(see shytting on Trump and the aftermath of glowing articles saying Pop should be president)

Spurs players were really only encouraged to endorse local supermarket HEB(or some shyt) and in every ad they made Kawhi(coincidentally the darkest complected) come across as a dumb nikka :mjpls:

Kawhi got too close Pop and got to see who he REALLY was and that's why he bolted :wow:
they had a last minute sit down last year where Pop was trying to get Kawhi to stay and it only lasted ten minutes :pachaha:

media made it like it was on Kawhi to let bygones be bygones with Pop and dap him up when the Raptors played the Spurs but breh says Kawhi would be perfectly within his rights to say "fukk that :camby:" after Pop tried to sabotage him and got Manu and Tony Parker to throw shots at him too

there's more, and the videos are kinda long but that guys youtube channel is GOLD :wow:
I had it on in the background while I was playing video games all day. it's got high production value and breh not only studies the game but also the social dynamics involved with the NBA and their ramifications of perception in society as a whole

I highly recommend brehs subscribe :ehh:

Isaiah Thomas may not be on the Celtics but he's definitely playing for them tonight. I hate to say it but he may be on his way out of the league after this season unless someone loves him like Thibs loves D-Rose and gives him a shot.
