I'm more just confused by the Blazers moves, just seems like there aren't enough minutes for everybody
Laymen & Collins should be getting minutes because their young guys who are pretty good & I would guess are part of the future. So bringing in guys like Hood & Kanter just seems strange. Laymen & Hood splitting minutes with Turner & Harkless who are making $29M (
) between them plus the minutes CJ eats at the 2 & Kanter eating minutes from Collins & Leonard who's making $10.5M. They traded for Skal & he seems like he'll get 0 minutes now too.
It's about strength in numbers
As well as depth.
With Kanter and Hood, they basically want some vet experience when it comes to the playoffs. They don't feel confident with layman and collins.
Also Leonard is deadweight at times.....
Same deal with Harkless and Aminu. They're both good on defense but their offensive numbers are garbage.
Long term, blazers will looking for a way to unload some form of Harkless, Leonard and Turner this offseason.
Turner will be hardest to move at 17.5 Mill
Kanter will most likely eat up minutes from Collins
Rotation wise
Kanter and Collins come off the bench together though.
As far as Skal, he's long term next season project.
