You do realize that the main narrative around DPOY is usually who's the leader of the #1 defense. right?

No by narrative based I mean if he aren't considered a great defender already you're going to have a tough time gaining traction for the award. It's late in Horford's career and he was never considered an elite defender so him gaining enough support for it by the end of the year seems unlikely.
You know as well as I do some of these voters pay absolutely no attention to what's actually going and shouldn't have votes in the first place. I'm really surprised the NBA players association hasn't started talks about getting a better voting committee for the awards since they do affect the pay that players get, which is ridiculous when you got people voting IT as an all NBA defender. That should be instant lose of vote status.
