Its insane that OKC fans, media and staff have copped pleas for him for this long. Roberson is not good enough on defense for him to be that bad on offense. They shipped Thabo out for a dude whose the same exact player as him, but even MORE inept of a shooter :snoop:

You underestiimate how much the Thunder like Robes. They didn't draft Ferguson to replace Robes, if anything he was insurence in case Robes left. To be perfectly honest after Robes got his new deal & getting PG & Melo he was probably looked at as a way to make a trade later to fill other holes (& might still be).

If Abrines was playing to the level he did last season, Ferguson is probably spending 90% of his time in the GLeague this season, instead of having people thinking he's about to suddenly jump into the starting lineup after a game where he got hot in 1 half against a Lakers team that just straight gave up as soon as the Thunder made a run.

Roberson's lost more games with his offense than he's won on defense. Forget the regular season analytics. The way people talk about him you would think he's a Kawhi, Jimmy or TA on defense, but he's not. He never has been. All those guys have notable defensive performances in the playoffs. Roberson doesnt have one memorable performance. You would stick him on a guy to preserve Westbrook and KD on offense, but its not like he does a fantastic job. Dude regularly gets lit up for efficient points in the playoffs. Meanwhile hes missing gamewinning layups and losing games at the line on the other end.

Ferguson hasnt done anything to get his spot yet because he just got drafted and hes been in and out of the rotation/league because they want to preserve Roberson's confidence because if they dont he'll give them nothing in the playoffs. In reality though they need to be getting t ferg ready because he's going to be their future 2 guard and x factor.

As far as this team goes hell be a 3 and d guy. He probably wont have a performance like this again and thats fine, but they gotta start incorporating him into more lineups. While hes not on robersons level defensively if roberson has those games where hes not giving you anything youre gonna have to put this guy out there

Actually I tried to allude that while Thabo was an okay shooter in OKC, Roberson is far less capable. Thabo's J used to be broke asf in the early OKC years and it got better over time. Roberson might be a flat out lost cause.
