better teams should usually defeat worse teams when you PLAY SERIES


tell me why people would be surprised that a 1 seed beat an 8 seed in a 7 game series....jesus christ you people are weirdos

generally speaking yes which is why the NCAA tourney and NFL playoffs garner more excitement...I'd really enjoy it if the NBA followed this template

1. Best 16 teams in the league makes the finals based on overall record

2. Round 1 is a one game winner take all series

3. Round 2 is a best of 5 series

4. Round 3 is a best of 7 series

5.The Finals are a best of 7 series

This will allow for more excitement in the early rounds but also possibly increase the level of overall competition....Issues are that the NBA will lose possible income in the first and second rounds and it would eliminate conference championships being decided in the playoffs instead the team with the best record in the conference would receive that credit.

one off playoff series are entertaining in their own right....

One off playoff games for NBA should have its own separate in season tourney then for different rewards/stakes.

One off playoffs is fake parity but it is entertaining

A 1 game first round series.....nah...that is a joke


Nobody was talking this nonsense when the Lakers and Chicago were three-peating. Funny how that is

I have always spoken about this...To me it would be more exciting most will admit that the first few rounds of the playoffs aren't that exciting.

The Wizards Boston Series has been awesome to me

The Bucks Raptors series waas good to me

Rockets-Spurs has been and will be good

The Cavs-Pacers series was close in every game

Clippers vs Jazz went to 7....

One off games is good for gambling and people who dont really like the sport..ie casuals...it inflates the sense of competitiveness

Think back over the last decade or so and use your imagination that the first round was a best of 1 game...Think about the impact a couple of upsets could have occasionally.
