Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
It is.

Embiid is the only reason this isn't the worst rookie class of all-time

Obligatory young Gawd video

@duckbutta
Brown often references his experiences coaching future Hall of Famer Tim Duncan when talking about successful big men. He already has connected Duncan with Joel Embiid as a mentor-type figure.

He has the Great One mentoring him, I expect your blessing soon :jbhmm:

thats a ridiculous statement

What are you talking about?

There's plenty of promising rookies

There's literally one rookie right now averaging over 10 PPG.

Never said there's no promising players but the point is, the rookie play this season outside of Embiid has been historically awful, there's no way around it.

Only 1 rookie is averaging double digits, it's really poor class in terms of on court production. There are some factors to that, but in terms of pure numbers it's been a horrible rookie class.

And even then, this ain't the first and won't be the last to have a top player or two miss a significant amount time due to injury, or have guys who are talented but stuck behind vets.

It looks even worse because of how great last year's group was

Brandon Ingram is a lot further away than 30-40 lbs of muscle :francis:

No he's not. He can get to the rim but he's so weak that he just throws up airballs after contact. He can affect shots with his lenght but teams usually post him up and put him in the basket due to his size. His shooting has been :gag: but a lot of his issues can be fixed with added weight.

Y'all dudes did the same thing with DLO last season and look at him now. Give these kids some time.

I remember myself and a ton of other people saying he wasn't a point guard and it only took a season for that dream to die.

The thing with Ingram is that he isn't beating people, he's just taking advantage of openings (and there's plenty because most teams hit the snooze on LA these days). I mean, yeah, that's cool that' he's got a basketball IQ - he played for Duke. But Ingram isn't out there sizing people up one on one, feeling a mismatch, or punishing trash defenders with any kind of regularity. He's just out there. And he doesn't even look all that athletic either.

I never followed that dumb Randle/Jabari convo that went on here, but can you honestly say that Ingram is/was a better prospect that Parker?

All those KD comparisons never made sense. Unless he gets more assertive he's gonna be Super Josh Childress...

The only ones that have shown a little promise are

Ingram(defense only)
Zubac
Jamal Murray had a string of good games but mostly been trash
Same goes for Buddy Hield
Dejounte Murray
Malcolm Brogdon has been good

Ben has been injured

Other than that, :trash:
Esp the lottery guys

You expect him to do all of that at 19?

Some of y'all have unrealistic expectations from teenagers. Ingram has always been a project. No one in their right mind expected him to come out and dominate. He's actually ahead of schedule if you're being impartial. He's shown great play making skills and has been asked to be a PG, a position he hasn't really played all too much in his career. Not to mention, the Lakers are doing a great disservice playing him with the chuck bros(Lou Will and Clarkson) as he never gets to touch the ball.

Show me a video of Childress being half the playmaker that Ingram is.
